There are two main types of garden spades available,
those with a flat digging edge and those with
a pointed or curved digging edge. The flat edged
spade is for a more loose soil which is easier
to slice through. The garden spades with a curved
or pointed digging edge are for more clay soil.
The main point I look out for when purchasing
a garden spade is the strength/material of the
handle as this is the section that will have the
highest pressure applied.
